If the NFC Reader does not respond during badging or has lost the connection to AbaClock, proceed as follows:
- Check if the Reader is connected to power.
(Especially important if the power is temporarily switched off. The reader requires power). - Make sure that Bluetooth is activated on the device and that the app is allowed access.
Bluetooth is activated in the iOS app "Settings" under "Bluetooth". Bluetooth access for the app is allowed under "AbaClock 2" or "AbaClock 3".
If the Reader is connected to power and Bluetooth has been activated on the device and the Reader still does not respond, follow these steps:
- If necessary, disconnect the reader in the settings of the "AbaClock" app in the "NFC Reader" catalogue.
- Then close all apps and reconnect the reader as described in the following article: Installation NFC Reader EVIS (blue board)
If the Reader is still not recognized by AbaClock, the functionality of the Reader can be tested as follows:
Install the free app "LightBlue Explorer". This app recognizes the Reader and outputs the name of the Reader. The correct designation of a functioning Reader is shown in the app with the designation "EVIS2.....". (EVIS + number of the Reader) is displayed.
If the name of the Reader does not correspond to the correct name mentioned above, it cannot be read by AbaClock.
In this case, please contact Abacus Research AG (produktion@abacus.ch), so that the Reader can be replaced.
Please return the defective reader within 2 weeks to Abacus Research AG, so that it can be returned to the manufacturer.
